See, Bristol is b-e-a-utiful! I took this photo and I love it. Some of the most dramatic sunsets ever.

(have you noticed that I have now worked out how to use flickr! haha.)

Tom & Taylor

This is my uncle Tom and my little cousin (his granddaughter) Taylor at Christmas. She is so cute! She did this funny thing with my dad where he would call her over and she would walk up to him and he would tickle her behind her neck. It made her wriggle and squirm all over the place. It was a 'had to be there' I guess, but very funny.

RISKS

How many risks do you take? I have been challenged loads recently about taking risks for God. My friend Mari is working in New Zealand setting up homes for young prostitutes and she was sharing her story at church the other week. It was so challenging. The initial step to do something, to make the first move, to make contacts that would help her do what she wanted to do, was really risky. She had no idea how it would go or if anyone would respond. She had asked a family friend if she could go and hide at their house if it all went down the pan in a spectacular way! She just had a massive passion from God to do something to help these young girls - to cause a diversion in their lives that would stop them ending up homeless, used and abused, on drugs and almost beyond repair.

It was amazing to hear the story of how once she had taken that risky step and started on her faith-journey, how God totally just took her small offering and made it into a massive feast! (A la feeding of 5000). God had already arranged people to run the first house, the actual house to the exact specification she wanted and enough money for 1 whole year of running and all it took to access all that was for Mari to step out in faith, trusting in what God had asked her to do.

What risks do I take? I am more and more convinced that whoever we are or whatever we do there are risks for God that maybe we don't even see sometimes, but that if we take them amazing things will happen. God sees so much more of the picture than we do and I think he sets up 'divine appointments' that will make a difference in the kingdom. Obviously not everyone is asked to give up their job and work with the marginalised. Maybe it is just asking to pray for someone at work who you feel God wants to speak to, or maybe it is volunteering somewhere... or maybe it is giving up everything to follow a dream God gave you years ago... who knows.

I know I want to be a risk taker - now I just need God to show me what risks to take and I am there!!

So, when I published that entry about the rugby the picture of my ex-dog donnie doing his Saruman-warrior impression appeared. How? No idea. Haha. Not so good at computers apparently!

Just watched France v Scotland in 6 Nations. Gutting. Scotland were leading all the way through until the last 2 mins then stupid France scored. Too annoyed to write anymore. Not that I really want Scotland to win, I just didn't want France to win because they are always so good. It would appear they aren't great this season - some of their penalty attmepts made me laugh out loud. But still. Sad. Looking forward to tomorrow!! Woohoo!! Ireland v Italy. Kick off 2.30pm.
